Carnival Liberty Cruise Line Discount And Cruise Review

First Glimpse
Carnival Liberty, which debuts in July of 2006, is the latest in the series of Conquest-style vessels. The fourth in its class, the ship will feature some trademark services and amenities. These include dining options like a sushi bar, supper club, and flexible option main restaurants. SpaCarnival features both an expansive workout facility, and a myriad of pampering-oriented spa options. The ever popular casino -- on Carnival Liberty look for Club Czar -- offers the usual odds.
What's unique and interesting about Carnival Liberty is that it's the first ship in the line ever to sail a season in Europe. Just after its launch this year, it will offer a series of 12-night Mediterranean voyages from Civitavecchia, its homeport just outside of Rome; the ship will then reposition to the Caribbean for the winter months from a base at Ft. Lauderdale's Port Everglades. Carnival recently announced that the ship will return to Europe in 2007.
Also distinctive, of course, is Liberty's theme. Those expecting an all-American interpretation are in for a surprise, however, as noted designer Joe Farcus has instead focused on a more international definition of the theme. The most distinctive touches apply to artwork and craftsmanship, ranging from the Venetian Palace, the main show lounge, to the Tattoos Dance Lounge.
Stay tuned for Cruise Critic's pre-launch "sneak preview," which will appear in mid-July. |
